Randall T. Huling, M.D., FAAFP, CPI


Dr. Huling was born in Montgomery, Alabama and moved to Southaven in 1970 where he graduated from Southaven High School. He attended the University of Mississippi for both undergraduate and medical school, graduating in 1981. He joined the Army and was stationed at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina until 1992, where he filled positions of Clinic Director, Chief of Primary Care, and finally Residency Director of the Womack Army Hospital Family Practice Residency Program. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Southaven and joined Desoto Family Medical Center in 1992. Dr Huling separated from Desoto Family in 2003 and established Olive Branch Family Medical Center.

 

Dr. Huling is married to Barbara and has 2 children, Melissa and Ryan. He is a clinical instructor in the Department of Family Practice at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and also at the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Tennessee, Memphis. He has maintained his certification of clinical competency from the American Academy of Family Practice since 1981. He is also certified as a Clinical Densitometrist, Clinical Research Investigator, and Medical Review Officer. Dr. Huling has also served on the Board of Alderman for the City of Southaven since 1997.

Edward Eldred, D.O., MBA

Dr. Eldred is board certified in family medicine by The American Board of Family Medicine. He joined OBFMC in August 2010 after the completion of his Family Medicine residency at the University Of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Prior to residency, Dr. Eldred completed his medical training at the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences located in Kansas City, Missouri. While completing his four years of medical school, he obtained his Masters in Business Administration degree from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Eldred is a member of the 2001 graduating class of Mississippi State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and molecular biology.

 

Dr. Eldred is a life-long resident of Desoto County. Currently, he resides in Olive Branch with his wife, Melissa, and their two sons Lawson and Rowan.

Simar Vidwan, MD

 

Dr. Vidwan was born in Toronto, Canada and was raised in Augusta, Georgia. She received her Family Medicine training at the Ohio State University residency program in Columbus, Ohio. During this time she was selected for the OSU Family Medicine Humanism award. She is interested in volunteer medical service and has worked in free clinics throughout her career both at home and overseas. She volunteered at the Columbus Free Clinic as one of the lead physicians during residency. In addition, she served on Polio eradication project targeting infant and child vaccination in Punjab, India. More recently, she worked as a medical missions volunteer at the Chidamoyo Christian Hospital in Zimbabwe.


In 2013 she moved from Atlanta, GA with her husband, Param and two-year old son, Armaan.

Lora Smith, FNP-BC

 

Lora is a graduate of the University of Memphis, where she received her BSN in 2007. She worked as a registered nurse in the trauma intensive care unit at the Regional Medical Center while completing her graduate education. Lora graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Master of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Memphis in 2010. She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

 

Lora has a background in cardiology and family practice. She enjoys educating patients on preventative medicine, while working towards overall better health. She lives in Southaven with her husband Chris and their two Chihuahuas, Sasha and Lucy.

Kori Swearengen, FNP-BC

 

Kori Swearengen is excited to be a member of the OBFMC team. In 2009, she earned her Baccalaureate Degree, in Nursing, from William Carey College. Kori possesses a strong nursing foundation in Medical-Surgery, Oncology, and Emergency Medicine. Kori has fervor for knowledge and was compelled to further her nursing education. In December 2013, Kori earned a Master's Degree, in nursing, from Union University. She is a member of Nu Lambda Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honors Society of Nursing. Kori is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner with the American Nursing Credentialing Center.

 

Kori, a DeSoto County resident, is a native Louisianan. She enjoys reading, vintage shopping, and enjoying quality time with her husband (James) and their daughter (Jubilee). She is looking forward to providing quality healthcare to the community and a long and prosperous career with the OBFMC team.

Erin Carner, FNP-BC

 

Erin earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2007 and her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Memphis in 2013. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Vanderbilt University, 2003. Prior to joining the OBFMC family, Erin spent six years at LeBonheur in Memphis. She is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

 

A lifelong Memphian, Erin now lives in Shelby County with her husband and their three young children, two sons and one daughter.

Virginia Holmes, FNP-C

 

Virginia is a graduate of Delta State University of Cleveland, MS, where she received her BSN in 2011. She has a background of pediatric nursing for 14 years at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN. Then she decided to further her education and received her MSN from Delta State University in 2013 and is now a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She is a member of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International, Mississippi Nurses Association, American Nurses Association and American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She is also an ADN instructor at Holmes Community College in Grenada, MS.

 

Virginia is a Marshall County resident. She enjoys reading, gardening, and spending quality time with her husband (Jacky) and her grandchildren. She enjoys helping her patients achieve overall health and serving the community.

LaKieva Trotter, FNP

 

LaKieva joined OBFMC's amazing team in October 2013. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (2002) and Master of Science in Nursing (2007) from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

 

While furthering her nursing education, LaKieva worked as an Emergency Room Nurse at Methodist University. She has enjoyed the experience of working as a travel NP in Northern California and an ER-FNP in Houston, TX, where she attended the needs of vast socioeconomic and multicultural populations. LaKieva is ecstatic about working in Family Practice, educating the community on disease prevention and management to achieve health goals as well as longevity. She embodies the opportunity to have more individualized care with her patients, as well as the ability to triage emergent situations, when necessary.

 

She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. LaKieva is a member of Greater Memphis Area Association of Nurse Practitioners, Mississippi Nurses Association, and the Mississippi Association of Nurse Practitioners.

 

LaKieva is originally from Clarksdale, MS. She currently resides in Memphis, TN with her family. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, community involvement with health fairs, and shopping.
